What happened to Duel Masters in 2020

Nine months are over in 2020, and there are only three months left.
It’s 2020, which is just a word of the new coronavirus, but I would like to write about what happened at Duel Masters this

Birth of remote duel

The new coronavirus has also had a major impact on the card game industry. Card games are played facing each other. All tournaments at card shops and large venues have been canceled due to the fact that they are prone to droplet infection.
In addition, there was a state of emergency, and the number of users visiting card shops decreased, and some card shops disappeared.

On the other hand, “remote duel” has become popular. This is to take a picture of each other’s place with a camera and perform a duel through software with a video call function.
It’s easy to create a duel environment, and you can play immediately even if you’re far away, so “remote duels” became popular in no time.
Official competitions will also be held at “Remote Duel”, and even if the new coronavirus converges, it will be seen in the future.

Return to origin of Duel Masters

In 2020, Duel Masters has started a new “Ten King Edition”. Ten new (kingdom) races have been added, each with its own unique abilities.
One of the features is that it has a lot of ability to activate at the time of attack, which is the official intention to wipe out the GR environment of last year. (GR admits that officially failed)

The original Duema is a game in which you put out creatures and play while countering with attacks or S triggers.
After the appearance of GR, the game often ended unilaterally in the first 4 turns, and the original game element was lost.
There are many players who have a better impression of the Juou edition than the previous series, and I just want Takara Tomy to continue on this route.

Soaring promotional cards

In 2020, the soaring price of promotional cards was noticeable. Mainly for cards that are dealt only in highly rare tournaments, the prices of winning cards and BEST8 winning cards are soaring.
Until a year ago, the price of 40,000 to 50,000 yen was about twice as high as 100,000 to 120,000 yen in just one year.
Some cards cost about 200,000 yen each, and they are no longer just cards but stocks.
Some say that wealthy people have entered the card game market, and the price of promotional cards is likely to continue to rise.
